JV Game

JV lost two games on Monday to Cassville 9th grade team 4-3 and 15-13. To many errors and strikeouts left us a bit short in both games. We had good performances on the mound for the entire night. Gives us something to work on and get better.

Big Win!!!

We beat McDonald County on Saturday 5-4 at Arvest Ballpark in Springdale, Arkansas. It was a great experience for all. The field was gorgeous and we played well. Reese Stevenson picked up the win, pitching 5 innings and striking out 7. He gave up 4 runs but only 3 were earned. Cameron Terry came in and got the save in 2 innings of work. Reese and Cody Hall each had 2 hits and Cameron and Devon Bennett had 2 RBI's. We play Southwest on Thursday in the Cassville Classic due to the rain out yesterday. Pray for sunshine!!!!

FYI!!!!

McDonald County Vs. Purdy
March 17th, 2012
2PM
At northwest Arkansas Naturals
Minor League Affiliate of the Kansas City Royals
The McDonald County Mustangs and the Purdy Eagles will be playing each other at Arvest Ballpark, home of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals. This is a little different than what past experiences with the Springfield Cardinals have been. On the date of the game, March 17th, 2012, the Naturals will not be playing. McDonald County will charge ta gate fee and normal expenses just like a home game in Anderson, as if we were the visitors.

However, in order to play this game on the Naturals’ field, we have to sell tickets to a Naturals game. I have chosen the game on Sunday afternoon of May 13th at 2pm. The Naturals will be playing the Springfield Cardinals. I would like for each player to try and sell 10 tickets. The Naturals will be giving prizes for the highest selling players. Examples are Tickets, an autographed baseball, on field activities, and throwing out the first pitch. You do not actually have to go to the game; you can buy tickets and give them away or use them as gifts. The tickets will be handed out after your athlete has turned in his ticket sheet.

Reese Stevenson Signs a Letter of Intent with St. Mary!!!!

PURDY'S REESE STEVENSON has verbally committed to play Baseball at the University of St. Mary in Leavenworth, KS and will sign a national letter of intent on March 1st, 2012 at 2:30 pm at PURDY HIGH SCHOOL. The signing will take place in the high school Library. You can check in at the school on the east side at the district office.

Reese has been a huge part to the Purdy Baseball Eagles as a starter since his freshmen year. He has played numerous positions in his high school career; Shortstop, Pitcher, Catcher and 2nd base. He plans to work hard to earn a spot in the middle of the infield for the Spires out of the KCAC. Reese brings a lot to the table when it comes to playing at the next level. He could play in the middle of the infield or even at 3rd base. He also brings a huge arm and ability to get outs on the mound. He was recruited for his bat and fielding ability. “We are very excited to sign a player of Reese’s caliber for the 2012 recruiting class,” said Head Coach Rob Miller. “Reese will be a quality addition to our program and we expect many things from him over the next four years. We feel Reese has been well coached in the game of baseball and we are excited to work with him on a daily basis. We look to continue his development and watch him grow into a quality starter for the University of Saint Mary.”
