Tough win, 11-5 vs East Newton

It took us until the seventh inning to put a big inning together. We scored 6 runs in the seventh. After a few walks, Daniel Barrientos came up and delivered the go ahead single and then Mason Roller finished it off after a Trent Goetz suicide squeeze. Mason delivered a 3 RBI double. Derek Dailey picked up the win while striking out4 and walking only 1. Mason and Daniel both finished the night with 2 hits and 4 RBI's and 2 RBI's respectively. Derek helped his own cause with a 3 run homer in the second. We play College Heights here on Tuesday. Don't forget to get you tickets for the May 4th game at Hammonds field.

11-1 win over Diamond

The win puts at 3-3 on the year and hopefully gives us some momentum going into some big games over the next 3 weeks. Josh Wiseman pitched a complete game allowing 7 hits and 2 walks while striking out 5. Mason Roller, Trent Goetz and Riley Veith each had two hits and two RBI's. Ryan Veith had a 2 RBI double in the 2nd inning. As of now we play at East Newton tonight at 5:00. Hope to see you there.

Not a good day

We got beat 11-0 in five innings. Blue Eye is a good team with great pitching. We play Diamond at home on Thursday. Hope to see you there.

2-2 over the weekend

Well, we finally got to get out and play. We opened up on Saturday with two wins. We beat East Newton 14-2 and Jasper 10-6. Chris Bennett had 6 RBI's on the day. Mason Roller picked up the win against East Newton and Josh Wiseman got the win against Jasper. We lost to Lamar on Saturday 6-3 and had a chance to win. We didn't hit the ball well. Derek Dailey pitched well but took the loss. On Monday we went back to Lamar for a regular season game and lost 7-6. I thought we out played them but couldn't over come them scoring 5 runs in the 3rd inning on 1 hit and seven walks. We play tonight against Blue Eye at Blue Eye. Hope to see you all there.

Once Again!!

Well I don't think we will ever get to play. No game today. We play tomorrow at Lamar at 11:00 and 1:00. The bus will leave at 9:00 am with the championship game on Saturday.

We just received word that todays game has been cancelled. We do not know about make-up times yet, but I will post them on here as a comment for everyone to see as soon as I get them.

Baseball on the horizon!!

First, I want to congratulate Coach Kennedy and Coach George on a very successful year in basketball. It is good to have a winning tradition that is school wide back at Purdy. With that said, I hope to continue that with this years baseball team. We will have our first full practice today. I know the boys did not want to end the basketball season the way that they did, but I hope it runs over to the diamond. We will have a work day on Saturday. Ken Terry has received permission to cut down the trees and brush south of the field. We need everyone there possible with chainsaws and ways to get rid of the brush. If you have questions you can contact me at the school. I will let the boys know exactly what time, but I am shooting for around 10:00am. If it is raining we might push it back to that afternoon or Sunday afternoon. We also need to pick up the leaves that have made a home around our 3rd base fence. We open up Tuesday, March 18 at the Lamar Tournament vs. Jasper at 6:00pm. Then we play on Wednesday, March 19 vs. East Newton and 4:00pm. Depending on how we do in those two games will determine our game time on Thursday. Hope to see you out this spring.
