In The District Championship Game
We beat College Heights last night 3-2 on a fine pitching performance and great defense. Riley picks up the win and we had no errors. Landon Terry doubled in the first and after Cody Hall walked, Kevin Miller scored both for a lead. Riley pitched around some trouble late to get the win. We play Southwest, after they beat Pierce City 12-2, in the Championship Game for the second straight year. The game was scheduled for today at 5pm, but has been postponed. We will play tomorrow at 5pm depending on the weather. See you at the ball park. You know Southwest will bring a good crowd, lets do the same.

1st round of districts
Districts started yesterday with a great effort by the Purdy Baseball team and Coach Darrin Henderson from Pierce City spending all morning getting the field ready. Also, a special thanks to the women that run the concession stand and the men that help cook and run the upstairs part of the Eagles Nest. College Heights won to move on to play us today at 4pm. Southwest and Pierce City play after our game. Come out and support the boys as they try to move on in the District Tournament.

Lost To Liberal, Beat Galena
We lost on Tuesday night to Liberal 9-1. They made the plays and got the big hits and put us in a hole early. Kevin Miller takes the loss, but pitched pretty good. Wednesday night against Galena we came out and played better offensively. We also got a good pitching performance from Landon Terry(5-1). We had 8 hits to score our runs to win 5-3. Down 3-1 in the 5th inning, Cody Hall hit a solo homerun(2) to get us within 1 run. After holding Galena, we scored 3 runs in the 6th on a RBI double by Devon Bennett and 2 RBI double by Daniel Burnside. With these two games our record is now 13-9. We play Clever tonight at 4:30 here for Senior night if the weather holds up. Come out and support our Seniors.

Today's Game
No game tonight. Working on a makeup date, but this late in the year, it maybe tough. We have moved tomorrows game vs Galena to Wednesday at 3:30pm at Purdy so the Seniors can make it to both the game and baccalaureate. Galena couldn't play on Tuesday due to a conference game they had to make up. See you guys Wednesday.
1-1 over the weekend!
We lost to Seneca and beat East Newton Saturday in the conclusion of the Monett Tournament. Riley Veith picks up the loss in the first game. We had some mistakes on both offense and defense. I felt like we could have easily won that game. We turned it around against East Newton and scored 7 early runs which came back to help us hold a lead late in the game. Reese Stevenson picks up the win and Landon Terry gets the save. We continue our hot hitting combining for over 20 hits in both games. We play Pierce City today at home if the weather cooperates with us.

We lose to Cassville
Cassville beat us last night 9-4. However, we played with them the entire game and made some mistakes that gave them some runs. Landon Terry picks up his first loss of the year, but pitched well. Cody Hall, Daniel Burnside and Devon Bennett each had two hits. We play Saturday at Monett at 10 vs Seneca and 2 vs East Newton.

After getting out of the 2nd inning, Kevin held them in check for the next 5 innings and pitched a complete game for the win. He added 10 K's and no walks(2 hit batters). Daniel Burnside had 3 hits and 3 RBI's. We moved our record to 11-6 the night before the seed meeting. We play Cassville tomorrow night here at 4:30pm. See you there.

Champions or Tri-Champions!
We beat Exeter last night 11-8 in a very different style game. We hit the ball well and kind of played ok defense. Just had trouble throwing strikes. But we came up with big hits at the right time and came out on top. Cody Hall was 2-3 on his first night back from his leg injury. Devon Bennett had 2 hits and 3 RBI's. Kevin Miller picks up his first win of the year while pitching in relief. This win moves us into a three way tie with Wheaton and Southwest. This also helps with seed meeting come Wednesday. We have beat at least 3 teams that have beat Southwest this spring. Wheaton, Exeter and College Heights have all beat Southwest. We play tonight vs Marionville. JV game will be played first. 4:30pm.

Changes For This Week!
We have a few changes for this week. We will be playing Exeter tonight at Purdy at 5pm. It might be a little later than 5, due to Exeter having some bus problems. No game with Monett tonight and no chance to make it up. Also, tomorrow's game with Marionville will be played in reverse order. We will play the JV first and then the Varsity game. We have a few kids gone on trips that won't be back till after 4. See you guys at the ball park this week.
