We lost 3-1 last night to Southwest in Districts to end our year at 20-5. I would be lying if I said I feel like we under achieved. But the things we did do is and will always be a total year that ended up a great year. 20+ wins in back to back seasons, Conference Champions, individual honors, and numerous memories. The Seniors will go out as one of the most winning classes in school history. With a combined record of 125 wins and only 43 loses. They will all be missed and hard to replace. Our job as a program is to get better. Go out and throw a baseball, take swings, take grounders. We have all got a part in the big picture. Get it done!!!!!!

Another Close Game
We lost 3-2 last night to the Number 1 team in Class 2, Clever. Alex Mareth was the star of the night with 5.1 innings pitched and only allowing 1 earned run. He struck out 6 and gave us a chance to win in only his 2nd Varsity start. He was also 1-3 with and RBI single. Devon Bennett had another RBI single. Reese Stevenson also had a hit to give us only 3 hits on the night. Clever scored an unearned run in the 7th to beat us. I was pleased with our pitching and defensive effort. Our hitting has to get better if we are going to go deep into the playoffs. We play at noon on Saturday at Ash Grove vs College Heights in the first round of Districts. Come out to Ash Grove to watch us play.

Helping Others
Coach Snider and I have agreed to help Coach Bell out with his fight with ALS. Coach Bell has been a fixture to the SW MO baseball community for a long time and has won more games than I could imagine. He will be honored at numerous ball parks over the next few days and this will be a way for us to help his fight with this horrible disease. Here is the email that Coach Snider sent me. A great idea, great cause, for a great man. Thanks
Josh,
We are planning doing a pass the hat fundraiser to help Coach Howard Bell out at Glendale with his battle with ALS. I am planning on giving a small speech right after the game with both teams standing on their respected lines, and then I was wondering your thoughts on having your Srs go to our side of the stands and my Srs go to your side as a show of unity and having donations collected in our kids hats. This money will all be put together and given to the Bell family Sunday. Thoughts?

Tough Lost To Cassville
We lost a great battle on the baseball field to Cassville last night 3-2. We scored 1st in the 4th after a leadoff double by Reese Stevenson and a Sac bunt by Austin Hancock that lead to Reese scoring on an error. Cassville scored 3 runs in the 6th and we answered with a run in the bottom of the 6 by a sacrifice fly by Cameron Terry. With 2 outs in that inning, Devon Bennett smoked a single up the middle and Austin was thrown out at the plate on a bang bang play. We held them in the 7th and came up a little short in the bottom of the 7th. Reese pitched 6 2/3 innings striking out 8 and only allowing 2 earned runs.
All 6 seniors, Britten Hardwick, Quin O'Hagan, Drew Williams, Devon Bennett, Reese Stevenson and Cody Hall were all honored before the game for senior night. All 6 will be great young men in our society and I look forward to seeing them be successful in everything they do. Thank you for the 4 years of allowing me to be a part of your lives. Thanks
Coach Hughes
