All great terms you hear around the ballpark.
Some of my favorites are;
On The Screws: When the batter hits the ball hard Also "on the button" or "on the nose."
Painting The Black: When a pitcher throws the ball over the edge of the plate.
Throwing B B’s: A pitcher that is throwing fast balls for strikes and no one is hitting him.
Can of Corn -- An easy catch by a fielder. A ball hit almost directly into the out fielders position popped into the air for a easy play.

I never realized I was so savvy on baseball terms till I started looking for sayings...It's amazing how many times you hear these said in the stands during a game. I think my favorite is "a little chin music for the batter" Still liking the "corner"

Kt,
Another great post! Those are very good terms that you here on any given day at the ball park. I like throwing B B's and Painting the Black. Makes me think back to May a few years back, down at Forsyth, with Corey Moller on the mound. Best pitched game I have ever been involved with. That day Corey was throwing B B's and painting the black.

The more I look the more amazed I am about all the fun sayings and the sayings that make me think of a time, when I played, about the game of baseball. Or even laugh during a snow storm, think of baseball.
